Losing all or most of your teeth can have a devastating impact on your ability to eat, speak, and smile confidently. In the past, the only solutions were uncomfortable, slipping removable dentures, or undergoing highly invasive surgeries to place 8 to 10 individual implants per jaw. Today, the revolutionary All-on-4® treatment concept allows us to permanently restore an entire arch of teeth using just four strategically placed titanium posts.
The engineering behind All-on-4 is brilliant in its simplicity. Instead of inserting an implant for every missing tooth, two implants are placed vertically in the front of the jaw (where bone density is usually highest). The remaining two implants are placed in the back of the jaw at a precise 45-degree angle.
This specific angling creates a mechanical stronghold, allowing the 4 posts to support a complete, custom-crafted bridge of 10 to 14 teeth that looks, feels, and functions exactly like natural teeth.
1. Avoids Complex Bone Grafting: Because the back implants are tilted, they maximize the use of available bone. This frequently allows patients who have suffered severe bone loss to skip the expensive and painful bone-grafting phase entirely.
2. Immediate Function (Teeth in a Day): In many cases, a temporary, fully functional set of teeth can be attached to the implants on the exact same day as your surgery. You leave the clinic with a fixed, beautiful smile.
3. Never Slips or Falls Out: Unlike traditional dentures, an All-on-4 bridge is permanently screwed into the implants. It does not rest on your gums, meaning no sore spots, no messy adhesives, and complete freedom to eat hard foods again.
While you will receive functional 'temporary' teeth on the day of surgery, your jawbone still requires 3 to 6 months to permanently fuse with the titanium implants. During this healing phase, you must stick to a softer diet to avoid stressing the new implants. Once healing is complete, we attach your permanent, ultra-durable Zirconia bridge, and you can return to eating steak and apples without fear.
The ideal candidate is someone who is currently wearing full dentures, or someone suffering from severe gum disease or widespread tooth decay whose remaining teeth cannot be saved.
The procedure is performed under deep local anaesthesia (or conscious sedation if requested), making the surgery itself completely painless. Post-operative swelling and mild discomfort are easily managed with standard pain medication and typically subside within a week.
Because the bridge is permanently fixed, you care for it almost exactly like natural teeth. You will brush twice daily and use a specialized water flosser (Waterpik) to easily flush away food particles from beneath the bridge to keep your gums perfectly healthy.
